Regular Season Round 28: Ponce - Bayamon 105-96

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-rankedVaqueros (24-10) in Ponce on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Leones (17-16) 105-96 . Ponce made 29-of-31 free shots (93.5 percent) during the game, while Bayamon only scored thirteen points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by Bayamon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Jordan Murphy (200-1997, college: Minnesota) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 32 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!) for the winners. International guard Stephen Thompson Jr (194-1997, college: Oregon St.) replied with 31 points and Dominican swingman Chris Duarte (197-1997, college: Oregon) added 21 points in the effort for Bayamon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. Ponce maintains third position with 17-16 record having eight points less than leader Mayaguez. Bayamon at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost.
